Friends of the Forest Walks

The Friends of the Forest has scheduled a walk in the Lowell Dracut Tyngsboro State Forest on Saturday, August 2 at 10am. The walk will last 60-90 minutes and leave from the Trotting Park entrance. The Friends group hopes to provide this casual walk as an opportunity for the public to become more familiar and more comfortable in the forest.

We will be trying to develop a monthy schedule of walks and other events throughout the year and further information will be posted.

Directions

From Middlesex St, Lowell: Follow Middlesex St. north to the Rourke Bridge, (at big intersection with Market Basket Plaza ahead). Go right. Take a left at the end of the bridge. Go 500 yards then take a right at lights onto Old Ferry Rd. Take a left onto Varnum Ave. After ½ mile, go right onto Trotting Park Rd. Parking lot is at the end of the road, by entrance gate.

From Varnum Ave, Pawtucketville:, Lowell: Go left onto Pawtucket Blvd. from the O'Donnell/School St. Bridge. Follow signs to Lowell General Hospital, (go right where at the light where the road forks). Follow Varnum Ave. passed D'Youville Manor (large nursing home), take a right onto Trotting Park Rd. Parking lot is at the end of the road, by the entrance gate.
